Installation Instructions:
Edgers:
Lay out your desired pattern using a string line or garden hose. Dig a trench the width of the edger along your pattern
(The trench should be deep enough to cover half the height of the block; the E-Z, Torpedo, and Crescent Edgers can be buried
flush with the sod for easy mowing). Place sand in your trench to help in leveling the blocks. Lay edgers into the trench.
Patio Blocks:
Begin by removing all unsuitable material from your work area. Prepare a level sub-base using gravel or crushed stone
(typically 4" - 6" of compacted base is required for sidewalk of patio projects; 8" - 12" for heavy vehicular use).
Washed sand should be used for your bedding course. Spread and level at a uniform depth of 1 1/2". Lay pavers over
the sand in the desired pattern, allowing for an 1/8" joint width.
When necessary, cut all pavers with an approved cutter to ensure clean edges and an accurate fit.
Gently tap all pavers into place by simply using a hammer and block of wood; use a level to be sure everything is
even.
In order to tighten all pavers, sweep fine sand over the surface of your project. Be sure to fill all joints completely.
Tamp stones with a vibrator.
Retaining Walls - Up to 3' High

Dig a trench wider than your block for the full length of the wall you want to construct. The depth of the trench should
be between half of the unit's height and the full height of the unit. Create a leveling surface, consisting of a 2- to 3-inch
layer of crushed stone or gravel, over compacted soil.
Once the leveling pad is complete, install the first layer of units. For correct alignment, use a string line along the
back to make sure they are flush. Use a level to ensure the units are uniform front-to-back and side-to-side.
After the base course is level and in place, backfill the void between and behind the units with clean granular fill.
It is important to tightly compact the soil to ensure a solid base for the rest of the courses.
Before placing the second course of units onto the base course, make sure the top of the first layer of units is
clean and free of debris. Place the next course of units onto the existing layer, backfill with dirt, and compact. Repeat,
placing additional courses of units until the desired height is reached.
Sharp curves and half units will require cutting with a masonry cut-off saw, which can be rented at most equipment
rental stores.
